My family has always been active in our community, taking part in environmental activism and disaster preparation, as well as improving tribal members’ living and social conditions. My Chippewa family has been a major inspiration to my work. I’m energized by watching how active they are in tribal leadership, from education services to tribal law enforcement.

I graduated cum laude from Humboldt State University, School of Business. I was a founding member of the Student Managed Investment Fund, designed to offer business students hands-on investment management experience. Profits went to scholarships for low-income students. My studies focused on socially conscious investments and financial planning techniques. I designed algorithms to run intrinsic value calculations on stocks that met our socially conscious screens.

I began my career calculating intrinsic values to existing positions and designing hedging strategies using derivatives. As I continued my deep dive into finance, I found the piece that was missing was a true understanding of financial planning and how it relates to my clients’ risk/reward profile. In my opinion, managing money for the profit of clients with no true catalyst as to what that profit supports is an inherent problem in the financial industry.

As I completed my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation, I have been able to tailor my services toward those who value holistic financial planning. I bring all aspects of my clients’ financial futures together under one umbrella. My focus is to see my clients through their life paths, ensuring that they have a safe and sound plan each step of the way.

As I now have a beautiful son, the need to make a difference in the world and to show him what one woman is capable of is stronger than ever.

I have been named a Five Star Wealth Advisor* for 2016–2020 and won Community Development awards during my college years.

I entered the financial planning profession with a desire to help people understand the importance of planning for the future. My clients are interested in achieving financial security by working hard and saving for the future. I’ve been privileged to work with many of them for 20 to 30 years. Watching them achieve their financial goals is unquestionably the aspect of my career that brings me the most joy.

Prior to my career in financial planning, I worked in the nonprofit sector and teaching. My desire to be of service is a guiding principle. The intersection of capitalism, environmentalism, and social justice cannot be denied. In the 1990s, we did not have the research available to support the argument that in the long run, companies that do the right thing by their employees and their communities tend to be more profitable. At the time, I had to give clients a choice: Did they want to screen their portfolios in line with their values given that they may give up some profitability to do so? Fortunately, clients no longer have to make this choice. It has now been shown that profitability and good citizenship can go hand in hand.

I am privileged to have a career that allows me to work with clients in a way that favorably impacts them as well as the future of their children, grandchildren, and community at large.

I enjoy hiking, dancing, reading, and, most of all, time with my family. I am fortunate to be able to spend time with my daughter, who lives in New York. In addition, I have recently married a wonderful man with seven lovely grandchildren. We love spending time cooking and traveling together with my daughter and his family combined. Also, volunteering in the community has always been important to me.

I have been named a Five Star Wealth Advisor* for 2020.

    Financial Planner

I joined Terra Blue Wealth Management with the idea that clear, conscious investing can be profitable and accessible. While working as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner at Good Capital Investment Group in New York, I saw firsthand how invested money could match client values and social progress. Clients took pride in doing good with their hard-earned money.

After graduating cum laude from the University of New Hampshire and Boston University’s Certificate of Financial Planning program, I obtained my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. I also hold FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities registrations as an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.

I continuously strive to improve our world and have led humanitarian trips in developing countries, volunteered as a mentor, and participated on several committees of a local union. In my spare time, I am a commercially rated pilot and, in a previous life, flew cargo planes in Alaska.

I have been featured on the How to Save the World Podcast, as a workshop leader with Outwild, and am a speaker at the upcoming Be Social Change panel on impact investing. I hope to educate investors about the importance and accessibility of socially responsible investing and the power investors have to promote social change.

    Practice Manager

I joined Terra Blue Wealth Management because I want to be part of a team that advocates for a better world. I am new to finance but could not be more thrilled to have joined my sister Vanessa, Maureen, and Candi on this venture to make a true difference.

I graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor's degree in international business. What fascinated me the most in my business studies was the interaction between commerce and society. While studying in Spain, I tracked how several Spanish businesses treated their employees, the environment, and their communities. What I found was the companies that cultivated an enriched vocational terrain, engaged in more environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, and gave back to their communities generally showed higher profit margins and more sustainable business models. I am excited to learn more about investment opportunities in companies like the ones I studied.

I am quickly learning just how powerful financial planning is. I believe the difference that Terra Blue Wealth Management strives to make for its communities is outstanding.  The stories each client has to tell and the financial pathways that were created are heartwarming. I also deeply appreciate Maureen's and Vanessa's commitment to engaging with our communities outside the office.

    Financial Planning Support Specialist

As a career changer, from property management to glassblowing, hospitality to manufacturing, I understand and connect with a wide spectrum of life experiences. Variety is the spice of life!

California-born and raised, my family moved from Los Angeles to Sacramento, and, in 2000, I came to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley, where I graduated with a BA in psychology. My chosen community was the University Students' Co-op Association (USCA), an unapologetically creative, vibrant, and dynamic community whose connections I cherish to this day. While I proudly call Oakland my home, I feel a deep connection to all of California and the beauty of her many landscapes.

When my two boys were born, their future became my future, and I am grateful to work in an environment that shares my passion.

I value authenticity, balance, play, and integrity, and my personal motto is, "Follow your curiosity." Nothing revives me more than a few nights in the high Sierras.

As a practice management consultant for our firm, I bring 23 years of experience in the financial planning and wealth management arena. Having co-built two successful firms in my career, I came to realize that my passions lie in engineering a holistic, client-centric  "perfect practice" with service at its core, as well as guiding advisors along the path to realizing their goals and dreams. So began my journey in consulting for firms like Terra Blue Wealth Management. I hold FINRA Series 7, 24, 53, and 66 securities registrations.

In addition to my passion for engineering the perfect practice, I love to travel and explore the world and all its marvels. I also love learning, wisdom, and personal growth and spend much of my time as a student in these areas. I am a dog fanatic and invest as much time as possible in the pursuit of becoming an expert in their world! In my spare time, I enjoy family, travel, reading,  and raising my loves: my shepherd/husky (Shepsky) babies, Maverick, Adeline, Bear, Denali, Ember, and Rogue.
