My family has always been active in our community, taking part in environmental activism and disaster preparation, as well as improving tribal members' living and social conditions. My Chippewa family has been a major inspiration to my work. I'm energized by watching how active they are in tribal leadership, from education services to tribal law enforcement.
I graduated cum laude from Humboldt State University, School of Business. I was a founding member of the Student Managed Investment Fund, designed to offer business students hands-on investment management experience. Profits went to scholarships for low-income students. My studies focused on socially conscious investments and financial planning techniques. I designed algorithms to run intrinsic value calculations on stocks that met our socially conscious screens. In my opinion, managing money for the profit of clients with no true catalyst as to what that profit supports is an inherent problem in the financial industry.
Through my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation, I have been able to tailor my services toward those who value holistic financial planning. I bring all aspects of my clients' financial futures together under one umbrella. My focus is to see my clients through their life paths, ensuring that they have a safe and sound plan each step of the way.
My primary driving purpose is the need to make a difference in the world and to show my son what one woman is capable of.
